Sometimes people do things to survive. Sometimes they break the rules.
nowhere usaSUMMARY Nowhere USA is a blue-collar comedy that has a focus on people, social equality, and their journeys that pushes the norms of society to question, “what would you do to keep your family going”. Nowhere has the feel of "Roseanne" and zany characteristics of "My Name Is Earl" all joined into one world. “Melville is drying up. Leroy has opened a Bed & Breakfast, Darnell and Glen are scrambling to keep the family construction company afloat. Martha’s café has run its course. Martha has a plan to revitalize their local economy but it means questioning societies rules and going outside of the law. Everything is going as planned until Leroy lets her plan go up in smoke. Things are about to get hot and heavy in the town of Melville.” Nowhere USA is filing for SAG New Media Signatory. |
Nowhere USA is a story of people. We are all human and are imperfect. Sometimes people do things to survive, sometimes they break the rules, sometimes it just social faux pas, and sometimes it is an internal shut down to live with what life has thrown our way. Nowhere is the embodiment of this story twisted with laughter to see the ridiculousness in the world.
The show seeks to use humor to tackle everyday life. We are losing a lot of footing for blue collar sitcoms. We have Modern Family, which is about upper class families and does a great job. However, the hardships of living check to check is where most of America is living. There is a connection there. Nowhere USA has the familiar voice of blue collar humor and a progressive voice of modern values. Nowhere speaks to the heart and soul of the population with American ideals of equality and social justices for race, sexual orientation, class, and philosophy. |
